Phase IV
Familiarization
- Continuous mentorship (primarily mentored by predecessor and all-encompassing)
- Empowering, encouraging, passionate, innovative and positive environment
Having the most recent team member train the newest team member has proven successful. This practices moves the time commitment for training new team members to the more junior team members while allowing the senior team members to remain focused on their busy work loads. Communications and knowledge sharing improved as the new team member(s) need help, they bubble questions up the chain to the senior members sharing the knowledge to all of the members back down the chain.
A continuous mentoring environment is established immediately by having even the newest members of the team involved in the mentorship process. These new members learn and excel through the process.
Participation in the Cultivation process improves the candidates' leadership skills. Thus at the three to five year mark, they tend to be better positioned to lead teams.
