Phase II
Training
- Provide candidates with the skills and knowledge that make them productive immediately in the workplace
- Smoother integration into the environment
- Improved first impression and productivity
Ensure that the training is directly relevant to the environment. Send technical people to technical training and sales people to sales related training. Cultivation does not recommend "one size fits all" training. Be sure to prioritize training and get the minimal training completed to be effective and move forward in the process as training should continue constantly throughout the Cultivation process. This phase emphasizes completing the minimum training required to productively contribute toward the mission.
When possible, providing candidates a mentor with the opportunity to apply the training in a real world setting while in training enhances the training experience.
It is important to keep training junior professionals and move them along the career path to provide new openings for the next round of junior candidates. This is not possible if the candidates become stagnant at any level.
